Initially launched in 1953 as a diver’s watch, the Rolex Submariner became the first wristwatch waterproof up to 330 ft. and touted as the ultimate underwater survival tool. Since its release, the Submariner has undergone several functional and aesthetic changes to improve readability and modernize the style.

The Rolex Submariner Datejust is a variation of the classic model, featuring a date window at the 3 o’clock position. The  Rolex Submariner Blue 126613LB comes with a stunning blue dial and bezel crafted from the company’s patented Cerachrom material. Cerachrom is a zirconium dioxide and aluminum oxide ceramic alloy resistant to UV, scratches, and impact. The striking blue shade contrasts beautifully with the two-tone Oystersteel and yellow gold case and bracelet for a practical and stylish timepiece. 

The classic hour markers and watch hands are coated in Chromalight, a photoluminescent film that glows in low-light conditions and lasts for up to eight hours for optimal visibility. The unidirectional rotating bezel is demarcated at 60-second intervals, allowing divers to safely and accurately track dive times and decompression points. The bezel’s fluted edges enable excellent grip underwater even when wearing dive gloves.

The monobloc middle case, case back, and iconic Rolex fluted crown feature a screw-down mechanism and triple-lock waterproofness system. This system offers divers up to 1,000 ft. of water resistance. The 41mm watch is powered by a caliber 3235 self-winding perpetual movement. The oscillator is driven by Rolex’s Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers, which are resistant to magnetic interference. This ensures the watch offers +2/-2 seconds per day precision and a generous 70-hour power reserve.
